Walt Disney World 2017

Hey guys!!

My baby girl turned 6 on February 2nd! *gasp* (not a baby anymore, I know) She wanted to go to none other than...Walt Disney World. She is finally tall enough to ride the "Big Kid" rides. Guess who got on Space Mountain?!

Every trip, I learn something new, so I am going to share with you all so you can focus more on the fun instead of the logistics. For all the Florida residents out there, we get a wee bit of a discount (literally, just a few dollars) and a couple of added perks. Don't worry, non-Florida residents get a leg up also. Due to the differences in residency, I've split up the tips below for 'Florida Residents' and 'non-Florida Residents'

5 NOTES FOR NEXT TIME

1. Should I purchase tickets online?

Florida Residents

Wait until you get there. For us, it's not worth purchasing tickets online. Why? You have to prove residency, i.e., show your photo ID or drivers' license. After purchasing tickets online, there isn't an eTicket option, you are instructed to pick up tickets in the Will Call line at the ticket desk at the park. Let me tell you, the Will Call line is LONGER than the regular ticket line.

Non-Florida Residents

2. Park Hop or Not Park Hop?

I personally do not believe that you can fully experience more than one park in one day.

When it's worth it?

Florida Residents

If you purchase a 3-day pass, it does not have to be 3 consecutive days, you have a few months to utilize it! If you were to purchase a 3-day pass today, it would expire on 06/09/2017. But depending on where you live, you have the burden of finding time to actually use it and get your money's worth. For an additional $27.50 you can park hop, that brings the total up to about $175 per ticket, but divided by 3 is about $60 per day, not too bad.

Non-Florida Residents

If you are staying at a resort or in the city of Orlando, multi-day passes are perfect! You can take your time and see it all, no pressure.

3. What should we eat?

We went to a sit down restaurant for the first time. Tony's is an Italian restaurant based from Lady and the Tramp and it was delicious. We were seated in about 5 minutes. Had we waited in line for the regular park food, it would have been at least 30 minutes easy. Although our wait wasn't that long for Tony's, they suggest that you make a reservation.

4. MagicPass

Take it everywhere! You can now load all of your pictures onto your MagicPass and order them later. It makes everything within the park seamless. You can also load you FastPass onto it (we'll talk about that a little later)

5. FastPass

Take advantage of the Fast Pass! Some of you may be asking what a FastPass is. Theme Parks are known for their ridiculous lines and wait times. FastPass allows you to get a pass and come back later (on average 2 hours later) and skip the line. It's like VIP. You scan the FastPass and go through a separate line, no wait...most of the time. As soon as you get to the park, find a Kiosk and load up your MagicPass with Fast Passes. You can select up to 3 attractions. There is even an option to set a time to take pictures with the characters.
